We believe that in the future most compact professional machines, if not all, will run on batteries and carry far more technology than today: cordless and emission-free, moving step by step towards flexible and, eventually, autonomous operation.
We bring our experience with floor machines and our expertise in battery power to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs): we develop machines with them on our platform, help them integrate the technology, and keep improving it side by side, so that they gain a technological advantage that lasts.
Kiwi started on the floor, not on a drawing board. Founder Edward Lagerwaard has been in the flooring trade since his teens: stripping, sanding and polishing, and from 2007 running his own floor company specialised in marble. Years of pushing machines across real floors taught him exactly what they do well and where they let you down.
That experience, and a lifelong passion for machines, turned into building them. First modifications, then complete machines of our own: the Kiwi Floor series, with interchangeable drive modules and dust extraction close to the floor. And when batteries made cordless professional machines possible, one thing became obvious: no battery on the market respected what a compact floor machine needs. So we shaped one that does.
